The RFT80-6A01 is a force–torque sensor with integrated measurement of linear force and rotational torque, designed to meet the requirements of medium-sized robots.

With a rated capacity of 400 N force and 20 Nm torque, the sensor is suitable for higher-load applications such as industrial assembly, push–pull robotic operations, and gripping with rotation.

Its high resolution (0.1 N force, 0.005 Nm torque) enables precise measurement and fast feedback, essential for force-controlled manipulation.

The sensor supports overload protection up to 200% of full scale (FS), enhancing durability and protecting the sensing elements during shock loads or unexpected force spikes.

Featuring a standard 80 mm diameter and 22 mm height, the RFT80-6A01 fits collaborative robots and light industrial robots. With a weight of only 226 g, it is well suited for modular robotic assemblies and mechanical testing systems.

Typical applications include collaborative robots, torque verification, industrial tactile simulation, machine learning, and force feedback control.

The product is developed by ROBOTOUS (South Korea), a specialized manufacturer of sensors for robotics and intelligent automation.

A. Installation

  • Secure the sensor to the robot flange, mechanical fixture, or shaft using appropriate mounting screws.

  • Ensure applied force and torque align correctly with the designed measurement axes (X/Y/Z or Tx/Ty/Tz).

  • Avoid direct impact before installation is fully completed.

B. Signal Connection

  • Connect the sensor to a data acquisition unit, computer, or PLC via the analog or digital output interface.

  • Perform initial setup: zero calibration (no-load), unit selection, and output offset verification.

  • Use ROBOTOUS software or compatible monitoring software for data visualization and analysis.

C. Operation

  • The sensor outputs real-time signals corresponding to applied force and torque.

  • Integrate with robotic or automation systems to enable force-feedback-based control.

  • Measurement data can be transmitted to control panels or servers for quality monitoring and analysis.

D. Maintenance

  • Clean the sensor surface with a dry cloth after use.

  • Avoid exposure to chemicals or water.

  • Periodically inspect cables, connectors, and mounting hardware.

  • Do not exceed 200% FS to prevent damage to internal sensing elements.
